Rise in USA Gamers Playing Skill
Games
Following
the 2006 regulations set by US
President George W. Bush (Port
Security Bill), 2007/8 has seen
the development by millions of
USA gamers of new alternative
solutions.
The
year 2008 recorded a dramatic
rise in the number of Americans
playing games of skill,
especially Online
Rummy
Oklahoma Gin and Gin
Rummy.
The
leading US and UK rummy portal,
Rummy
Royal
has reported a 50% rise during
2007 and 2008 in the number of
Americans playing skill games,
with 35% of these playing gin
rummy.
According
to a survey by Rummy Royal, the
23 million Americans who played
online games until the new law
was enforced, moved over to skill
games, showing a marked
preference for Oklahoma Gin
Rummy, an American
favorite.
"Changes
and developments over the last
two years have exposed Americans
to games that are cleverer, with
a long tradition behind them."
says Rummy Royal's game room
manager, Sasha Arkin.
"The
tradition of rummy, played in
almost every home throughout the
world, goes back hundreds of
years and was in fact the most
popular game in the Ottoman
Empire. More recently, rummy, in
all its variations, is gaining
popularity in the UK and in
France (known as kalooki for uk
and rami in France), and even in
China where they play Mahjong,
the Chinese version of
rummy."
In
response to the dramatic rise in
American rummy players, Rummy
Royal is offering multiply the
credit to every new player
joining from those countries."
Arkin said.
