Gamers Indicate Preferences In
Innovative
Entertainment
PlayFirst
has announced three wins out of a
possible nine at this year's
Zeeby Awards.
The
Zeeby Awards, founded by
Gamezebo, reward the very best in
casual Games
as voted on by players
themselves. Awards went to
PlayFirst's Chocolatier,
developed by Big Splash Games for
Best Strategy Game; Dream
Chronicles, developed by Kat
Games for Best Hidden Object
& Adventure Game; and Diner
Dash: Hometown Hero for the
year's Best Time Management
Game.
"One-fourth
of the games we released in 2007
won awards last week," said Kenny
Shea Dinkin, vice president and
creative director of PlayFirst,
Inc. "And each represented one of
our story worlds - The
Chocolatier Collection, The Dream
Realm and DinerTown - where our
fans are immersed in great
stories about characters they
love. We're honored to have
worked with such talented
developers, Big Splash Games and
Kat Games, and appreciate that
these awards represent the
people's choice. We've believed
all along in the power of
marrying great gameplay with
engaging narrative and are
thrilled to see players value it
so highly, as well."
The
Zeebys are the casual games
industry's answer to the film
industry's Oscar Awards,
rewarding the very best in casual
games as voted on by players
themselves. This year, the Zeebys
Ceremony was a non-profit event,
open to the public, with all
ticket sales proceeds going to
the Starlight Starbright
Children's Foundation.
"This
year's Zeebys Awards Show
represents the brightest
innovators in the casual games
space. We are focused on
recognizing leaders who drive
this industry forward through
quality and creativity in game
design," said Joel Brodie,
founder of Gamezebo and The
Zeebys.
